I took both the kids to the big box electronics store this morning for the express purpose of purchasing a software program they advertised at $0 after rebates and a new keyboard to solve my page up page down problems (the buttons, they just laugh at me).
They were out of my software of choice. Grr. But, no, I wouldn't be deterred. They had a competitor's version with a similar freeness, once I bother with all the rebate nonsense. Irritating, but not a hard stop offense. So I snatch that up, pick out the new letter-board, make sure the kids haven't stolen anything, and pay up.
I am now home, typing on the new keyboard, which is fine, but of course, did nothing to fix the issues for which I bought it in the first place. While it's nice to have a fresh, crumb-free keyboard, it still mocks me. I don't need a sarcastic computer accessory.
So then I try to put my rebate business together. Print out forms, read the tiny fine print so I have a snowball's chance of getting my money back, discover both rebates want the original UPC code. Of which there is only 1. Sigh. Really, Big Box Store? Don't your rebate writers talk to each other?
I really ought to cap this day off with a visit to the DMV.
