Thank heavens for auto post. Four very weary travelers are back from the great road trip of 2009, a little disoriented, a bit heavier, and happy. I'm trying desperately to tread through the mountains of luggage I have to unpack, but let me take just a moment to thank everybody in the whole wide world - no, it just feels like that with all the cousins, aunts, and uncles who were so good to us. Thanks for the wonderful food, the conversation, helping wrangle kids, and pretending Sabrina's shrieking is adorable.
Special mention to Perry, Cathy, Megan, and Emily for letting us invade their territory on a nightly basis.
To Betty to allowing us to use her house as a home base and giving my kids memories like those I cherish from my own kidhood visits.
To Larry for sharing his incredible talents with Sammy.
To Michael for taking us all over his adopted home town.
And to the Smiths for giving Sammy and Sabrina something new to love.
To the rest of you - Cindy, Keith, Brad, Becky, Andy, Jim, Judy, Dan, Ben, Jill, Bob, Alex, Rebecca, Shane, Koko, Randy, Carol, Dick, Lisa, Dickson, Dustin, Mindy, Kyleigh, Kayla, Matt, Jake, Zach, Morgan, Nick, Jan, and I know there's more but there's no way I can remember everything until I get all the underwear put away. We are grateful beyond words and can't wait to see you as soon as possible. We will be coming back, but in the meantime, our welcome mat is out for you.
